Not the same as other tide apps
Most tide apps reprint the same NOAA high/low tables — historical averages, often with no live water. Tide Alerts shows hyperlocal gauges plus raw SECOORA, NERACOOS, and USGS observations with our own predictions, so those sites get tables, calendars, and forecasts that typically have not existed before. For NOAA stations we use NOAA predictions together with live or recent readings. We do not treat a neighboring bay’s NOAA station as if it were your creek. Read why that matters.
What the numbers mean
Tide chart values are height of the water surface above a zero such as MLLW — not how deep the water is, and not how much room is under a bridge, unless that station has measured bottom and bridge datums. Sentient Things owners have that today; it is coming to NOAA, SECOORA, NERACOOS, and USGS stations too. MLLW, NAVD88, and datums explains the ruler in plain language.
Coverage
Sentient Things hyperlocal gauges plus raw SECOORA, NERACOOS, and USGS station data (NOAA typically publishes no tide tables for those sites; we compute our own predictions from measurements at that station — more accurate for that location even if NOAA does publish a table nearby — so you get tables and calendars where they usually did not exist), and NOAA stations that provide live or recent readings with NOAA predictions — more than 450 tidal stations.

Not an official NOAA app. We do not claim to be more accurate than NOAA everywhere.
Email alerts ship today. Custom threshold alerts, push notifications, and SMS do not.
There are no in-app purchases. Hardware tide gauges (solar, cellular) are sold separately.
Data and forecasts are for awareness — not a substitute for official marine forecasts or your own judgment.
