Tide Alerts the app shows data from Sentient Things hyperlocal gauges and from public networks. The physical tide gauges (solar, cellular) are sold separately. They are not an in-app purchase.
Today, owners of those gauges can have the channel bottom and bridge height measured and stored as station datums. Those marks show on charts and calendars and can drive public or private alerts. The same measured-datum feature is coming to NOAA, SECOORA, NERACOOS, and USGS stations — it is not a Sentient Things–only idea. Details: MLLW, NAVD88, and datums.
The free app still works for public stations if you never buy hardware.
For hardware sales and fulfillment, use the Sentient Things shop / sales contact (sales@sentientthings.com) — not this help site.
Email alerts
Public email alerts ship today. Push, SMS, and custom thresholds do not.
Not an official NOAA app
Tide Alerts is not NOAA. NOAA typically publishes no tables for SECOORA, NERACOOS, USGS, and hyperlocal gauges — we predict from measurements at that station, which fit that location better even if NOAA publishes a table nearby.
